Madcap Antics!

 Goofy spoofy!!! Madcap antics at a community college with student uprising, lots of professorial acronyms, and a clean sweep of faculty and (some) administration. Written 44 years ago this book seems almost prescient in its depiction of modern day campus life but much less violent than today. Maybe that’s because pot is now legal. Hahaha. Cartoon style black and white illustrations add to the zany mixture but are uncredited/anonymous. The antiquated use of pronouns is of course a dead giveaway that the authors only had their consciousness partially raised -- back in the day. Excessive use of foul language will be off-putting to some readers.

This somewhat maudlin, self-indulgent memoir has lots of details about chickens and home repair. A sort of hippy-dippy gal has a wonderful amicable divorce (!!!!) and as a result is reduced to living in a cottage at the beach. Boo-hoo. A single quote tells it all. P. 22 "Getting chickens at any time is a monumental decision."
